• NC State LIVE: Composer and violinist Daniel Bernard Roumain is the featured speaker for the University Honors Program Forum. 3 p.m. Witherspoon Student Cinema. Open to all.
Tuesday, February 14 through Saturday, February 18
• Gregg Museum of Art & Design: Two spring exhibitions are now open. Visit your museum! Galleries are open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Thursday, February 16
• WELLNESS DAY. No classes. Explore the collection of activities available to support and celebrate the day.
• Poetry Fox on Wellness Day: Arts NC State and the Creative Writing Program will host the Fox on Stafford Commons. 12 to 2 p.m. Get a custom poem for free!
• Gregg Museum of Art & Design: In support of NC State’s Wellness Day, the Gregg education staff offers a “slow-looking” tour of current exhibitions. 3 p.m.
• Dance Program: Dance master class, free to NC State students, faculty and staff. Heels dance with Ife Presswood. Carmichael Dance Studio 2307. Learn more and register. 5:45 p.m.

• University Theatre: Out Loud reading #6. Light of Jupiter by Mackenzie Cayco, recipient of an honorable mention for the 2022-23 Creative Artist Award in theatre. 7 p.m. Kennedy-McIlwee Studio Theatre.
• NC State LIVE: The Other Mozart (day 1 of 2). The true story of Nannerl Mozart, the sister of Amadeus – a prodigy, keyboard virtuoso and composer, who performed throughout Europe with her brother to equal acclaim, but her work and her story faded away, almost lost to history. 8 p.m. Titmus Theatre. NOTE: Limited tickets. A post-show talk with the artists will follow the performance on Feb. 17.
Saturday, February 18
• Experience NC State: Admitted first-year students are invited to campus to discover what it’s like to live and learn as a member of the Pack and choose NC State, the first of three opportunities in spring 2023. Arts Outreach and Engagement will represent the arts units.
• NC State LIVE: The Other Mozart (day 2 of 2). 3 and 8 p.m. Titmus Theatre. NOTE: Limited tickets.

• A story for Valentine’s Day: An NC State graduate student and her new husband made their wedding ceremony more special with a shared experience at the Crafts Center.
• Envisioning Research, the university’s annual research image contest, is underway. The contest is open to all graduate students, undergraduate students, postdocs, and faculty/staff. Prize money totals $4,200. The deadline to submit is June 19.
• The annual NC State Poetry Contest is a literary competition open to all North Carolina residents. A project of the Department of English, it is one of the largest free-to-enter poetry contests in the South. See all details. The postmark deadline is March 1, 2023.
• University Housing presents the Black History Museum, an immersive, guided experience that highlights important moments in Black history, from education to politics to sports. Monday through Wednesday, Feb. 13-15, 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Talley Student Union Mountains Ballroom.
• Crafting Resilience: Prevention Services and University Libraries provide experiential opportunities to engage in self-care through crafting. Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2 to 3:30 p.m.
• Join the African American Cultural Center for Pass and Paint. You start a painting and pass it along to each of your friends until you’ve finished a collective masterpiece at the end of the event. Registration required. Friday, Feb. 17, 6 to 8 p.m. Talley Student Union, room 4280.

• RALtoday: Upcoming concerts, Grammy edition. “We can’t help but be a little starstruck. The 65th Annual Grammy Awards were last Sunday and multiple winners are bringing their talents to the Raleigh area. Alphabet Rockers, a children’s hip-hop music collective, won Best Children’s Music Album for ‘The Movement.’ They’re performing at NC State this Wednesday, Feb. 8 as part of the university’s Kidstuff Series.”
• Technician: Innovation and VR studios allow students to use holograms to display art. Technician writer Matthew Burkhart introduces new, accessible hologram technology available in the Innovation and Virtual Reality Studios in D.H. Hill Jr. Library.
• College of Design News: Media Arts, Design and Technology Department Embraces Name Change to Highlight the Future of Design. Department head Derek Ham notes that the new name for MADTech (formerly Art + Design) “reflects a shift in the future of our department towards the emerging trends in digital media production.”
• Technician: Power of Women in Country Music at NC Museum of History commemorates country music trailblazers. Technician assistant culture editor Jameson Wolf interviews Museum of History staff about an exhibition (open through April 2) that highlights the contributions women have made to the country music scene.
