Envisioning Urban Futures is an annual symposium exploring bold and optimistic visions of cities of the near and distant future, both through technological/scientific and artistic/creative lenses. It is one of the signature programs of  the Long View Project (housed within NC State’s Climate and Sustainability Academy) and is organized by the Office of University Interdisciplinary Programs, NC State University Libraries and the Pappas Real Estate Development Program. 

The next installment will focus on More-than-Human Cities (a concept that recognizes and incorporates the needs and agency of non-human species in urban planning and design) and will be held on Jan. 28, 2026.
