Michael Bradshaw (Asst. Professor of Entomology and Director of NC State’s Larry F. Grand Mycological Herbarium) is collaborating with NC State’s Gregg Museum of Art and Design on a future exhibition of glass fungi.  Modeled after the Harvard Museum of Natural History’s one-of-a-kind Blaschka Collection of glass flowers, Dr. Bradshaw is commissioning glassworking artists to develop three-dimensional glass replicas of various fungi, to serve as both art exhibits and teaching materials.

One of the commissioned glassworking artists will also do a two-week residency in the Arts Village on campus and lead student workshops on glassworking through the Crafts Center, and the students will create their own glass fungi pieces.

These commissioned works and student pieces will be on display at the Gregg Museum in the Spring of 2027.
