Help Us Welcome Our New Dance Company Members

Tryouts for our Panoramic Dance Project and NCSU Dance Company took place on Monday, August 27, 2018, and Tuesday, August 28, 2018, respectively. We are excited to welcome five new members to the Panoramic Dance Project and three new members to the NCSU Dance Company.  Keep reading to learn more about our new members. We can’t wait for you to see them in action at our upcoming concerts and performances.

Panoramic Dance Project

Panoramic Dance Project is an academic dance company of NC State University that presents a variety of dance styles in a world context with a focus on African, hip-hop, and Latin dance. The company performs works by the Dance Program faculty, invited guest artists and student members, and artistic director of the company, Francine Ott.

Meet the New PDP Members

Haley Curtis 

Haley is a freshman from Mebane, NC, majoring in environmental science. She started dancing when she was four and has competed at To The Pointe Dance and Arts Academy for ten years. She has trained in ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, modern, hip hop, jazz funk, and lyrical. She is grateful that she gets to continue dancing and she is excited to learn through the Panoramic Dance Project.

Hannah Green 

Hannah is a freshman majoring in psychology from Apex, NC. Hannah started dancing at the age of 5 with a strong ballet focus and was a member of her high school’s dance company. She is very excited to explore modern dance and expand her artistry at NC State.

Paul Kim

Paul is a junior studying business with a concentration in supply chain. He has been dancing for four years with Fusion and Naazare. He hopes to continue dancing as a career after graduating college.

Destiny Payer

Destiny is a junior majoring in zoology and minoring in dance. She started dancing her freshman year of high school at Charlotte Blume’s School of Dance where she did a variety of styles, then was put in their ballet company her sophomore year. She went on to be a member of the UNC Pembroke Spirit Squad and now this is her first year with the Panoramic Dance Project.

Olivia Prevost

Olivia is a sophomore in exploratory studies, planning on majoring in business and interdisciplinary studies for dance and somatics. She has been dancing since she was four years old and has had training in Horton, modern, jazz, hip-hop, African, and ballet. This is her first year with Panoramic Dance Project.

NCSU Dance Company

The NCSU Dance Company is a nationally recognized modern dance company. As a member of the NCSU Dance Company, students perform the choreography of the artistic director, Tara Mullins, and annual guest artists.

Meet the New NCSU Dance Company Members

Aubrey Dixson 

Aubrey is a junior majoring in business with a minor in dance. She is so excited to be joining the Dance Company this year. She began her dance training at the age of two and has danced competitively in many genres of dance including ballet, jazz, contemporary and acro and also spent two years on the NCSU dance team. She has traveled coast to coast competing in places such as Disney, Madison Square Garden, and the Dolby Theater in Hollywood.

Delaney Galvin

Delaney is a freshman majoring in psychology with a minor in dance and she is so excited to be joining the company this year. She began her dance training as a high school freshman and has trained in almost all styles, but enjoys modern and contemporary dance the most.

LilyGrace Wolfe

LilyGrace is a sophomore from High Point, NC with an intended major in graphic communications. She began her training at age four with the High Point Ballet/Winston Salem Festival Ballet. In high school, she competed in various styles with Starz Elite Dance Center as well as attended UNCSA’s 2015 and 2016 summer intensives to study drama and commercial dance. She is very excited to spend her first year with the NCSU Dance Company.
