• Gregg Museum of Art & Design: Selections from the Collections is open in the historic residence gallery spaces and features a sampling of the many different kinds of pieces in the Gregg collection. This Is Not: Aldwyth in Retrospect remains open through October 7. Visit your museum! Galleries are open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Wednesday, August 16

• NC State LIVE: At 10 a.m., subscriptions go on sale for the 2023-24 season. Subscriptions will be available with no ticketing fees through Sunday, August 27.

Thursday, August 17

• Gregg Museum of Art & Design: Wolfpack Welcome Week tour of current exhibitions. Join education staff at the Gregg Museum for a tour of current exhibitions, including This is Not: Aldwyth in Retrospect and the museum’s recent installation of permanent collection objects. 3 p.m.

Friday, August 18

• Gregg Museum of Art & Design: The annual back-to-school poster sale begins, open daily 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. through August 25. The sale takes place outside at Talley Student Union, under the overhang near One Earth (a nice gathering spot that desperately needs a better name).

• NC State LIVE: Tickets for the August 25 show by The Second City go on sale to NC State students at 10 a.m. Tickets go on sale to staff, faculty and the public on August 23 at 10 a.m.

• Department of Performing Arts and Technology: Jazz ensembles audition clinic and jam session. An opportunity for any student interested in jazz to bring their instrument and gain a better understanding of what the audition process is like. Price Music Center, Room 101. 4:30 p.m.

Sunday, August 20

• Department of Performing Arts and Technology: Members of four student a cappella ensembles (Acappology, Grains of Time, Ladies in Red and Wolfgang) will host Aca-Pops at Wolf Plaza. It’s an opportunity to enjoy free popsicles and learn about auditions coming up Labor Day weekend. 12 to 3 p.m.

• New Student Convocation takes place on Sunday, August 20, beginning at 3 p.m. in Reynolds Coliseum, followed by the Class of 2027 photo on Stafford Commons.

• Have you registered for a fall crafts class? If you’re thinking about it, don’t delay. Several classes are already full or close.

• University Theatre single ticket sales for the 2023-24 season will begin on Monday, August 21.

• WKNC is offering three training sessions for blog, video, podcast and interview content creators. The first is Friday, August 18 at 3 p.m.

• Packapalooza 2023 is almost here! Check out plans for August 26, and take a quick trip down memory lane with photos from previous years.
