The Panoramic Dance Project will feature a premiere of the work, Tension, in their concert March 16th and 17th in Stewart Theatre at 8pm. Tension is a piece that was developed from the fall Daniel Bernard Roumain and Marc Bamuthi Joseph’s workshop, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Y-sllVL4Z8, dealing with personal biases, racial climate and social justice issues. The students began this project with honest discussion about that grew momentum with an NCBI training. Tension includes  original spoken word, an original sound score and developed movement content that will inspire honest conversation and challenge personal perspectives.

Other works on the concert include Countless Tracks on the Riverside Mud choreographed by Artistic Director Tara Z. Mullins, that was inspired by the Nile Project’s http://nileproject.org/, residency with NC State Live in Spring 2017. The piece deals with the parallels of water consumption and women’s roles in society. Other pieces include Bi-kBna-Bi by Chuck Davis, Dress, a tap piece by Emily Shoemaker Moorman and Entropy by Kendall Neely. Tickets can be purchased at tickets.arts.ncsu.edu or 919-515-1100.
