Welcome to the Arts at NC State!
Arts NC State is the collective organization for:
We are partners with
- The Department of Performing Arts & Technology (Dance & Music)
- The Arts Village
*This page is especially for students. If you are looking for our main arts landing page, click here.
All NC State students – regardless of college or major – are welcome to participate in NC State arts programs and productions, and to take both credit and non-credit arts courses.
Three things for you to do:
- Sign up for emails. You will receive updates on programs, auditions, ways to get paid to make your art etc.
- Explore our arts orientation brochure. This document covers the most common questions we hear from students, like: How do I audition for dance or music ensembles? Can I audition for a theatre production? Can I work backstage? How do I register for crafts classes? Are there arts jobs for students?
- If you haven’t already, please check out our welcome video below. It gives you a whirlwind tour of our programs in under four minutes.
Since this video was made, the Crafts Center has added the CLAB maker space, The Department of Performing Arts & Technology was made to house the dance and music programs, there are now 3 dance companies (plus Terrain Dance Co.), and there is a new Music and Technology Major.
What Our Students Have to Say
In this video, State Dance Company member LilyGrace Wolfe talks about the many opportunities she has found being a part of the NC State Dance Program.
“University Theatre has been instrumental in my time at State. It has been a community that has connected me to so many people across so many programs, taught me so many skills, and provided so many opportunities to learn and grow. UT has been as important to me as my major and NC State wouldn’t feel like a home without it.”
