Dear Crafts Center community,
By now, you might be feeling as if you’re in a very large storm at sea and each wave brings a new challenge. With the University’s opening in August, then subsequent closing of facilities on campus, we at the Center have experienced many unexpected waves of change. However, we are finding many opportunities within the challenges as we continue to pursue our collective passion for teaching, learning and making. With conditions improving, the Crafts Center has received clearance to resume the remainder of our in-person fall classes.
We have prepared all studios to accommodate a limited number of students and patrons safely and within the university’s guidelines. Please remember that face coverings are required to be worn at all times. We will be operating under the following revised practices and schedules:
• The Crafts Center will OPEN on October 1 for regular scheduled classes and appointment-only studio hours. The Center will close for the semester on November 24.
• Studio access will function by appointment only. Studio members and class participants should contact their studio manager to schedule an appointment. Appointments can be reserved on a first-come, first-served basis and should be made at least 48 hours prior to desired studio time. Due to capacity constraints in each studio, we ask that each user be mindful of space/time sharing. Please contact your studio manager to make arrangements.
• Supply kits [where applicable] for virtual classes can be picked up curbside or at the front desk by appointment only.
We hope to see you – at a safe distance – very soon!
